Langleys is a major UK law firm offering a full range of legal services with offices in Lincoln and York. As well as being a leading name in these two key regional cities, Langleys has extended its reach far and wide to include the commercial hubs of Leeds, Nottingham and beyond, and has a growing national influence and client-base.

Langleys has shown the foresight to build on trusted traditions while embracing innovative approaches to technology, with a recent re-design of its website and strategic approach to social media. It strives to deliver a first-class service to meet the most exacting requirements of its clients, whether that client is a major conglomerate or local farmer.

Langleys values approachability and a commitment to building lasting relationships with clients.

Langleys has ambitious plans to increase revenue and to achieve sustainable and profitable growth. The firm embraces change and is investing in commoditised areas of the business whilst placing quality and clients at the heart of everything it does.

With the aid of first class communication systems and video conferencing as well as efficient team management, the teams in the respective offices of both Lincoln and York do offer true collaborative working. Many lawyers operate regularly from both offices, as the work dictates. The firm is able to field substantial strength and depth in all key sectors over a wide and expanding geographical area.

The Firm

Langleys has a robust management structure that enables the firm to use its business acumen to identify opportunities for growth and navigate the challenges of a competitive market and economy.

The firm has invested in its IT platform to deliver efficient and cost-effective services. Technological expertise is an essential part of its business strategy to enhance performance and maintain its competitive edge.

Langleys has successfully achieved re-accreditation by Lexcel and Investors in People.

Types of work undertaken

The firm has divided its business into four key divisions: Commercial, Private, Insurance and Residential Property. Each division focuses on its individual strategy as well as the operational development of its services. This structure ensures that the services the firm provides are responsive to client needs and market developments.

Commercial

The Commercial team provides a comprehensive service to business, including corporate, dispute resolution, regulatory, employment, finance and commercial property. Exceptionally well connected in its market, the division aims to identify the best solutions for its clients’ commercial objectives delivered in the right timescale and at the agreed cost.

Described by clients as, “modern, well organised and efficient”, the division has gained a reputation for first-class service at competitive prices. Its market share increases year on year, helped by the wide ranging experience of the team attracting significant new client gains. Examples of this include its success in advising schools on conversion to academy status and the establishment of a new specialist licensing unit.
