Newark Book Festival (8th and 9th August).

Saturday is a special Ladies Day with a day of special events and guests.

One particular interest is a special evening event to help celebrate the success of women in business with Cosmopolitan Magazines famous agony aunt Irma Kurtz, well known for her wit, wisdom and common sense viewpoints. She has been Cosmo's agony aunt since the first issue back in 1975 so will have some interesting comments about how things have progressed. She has been described 'As the best friend you always wanted' and has opened a total of one million letters down the years from women seeking her help and support.

This event is being hosted by 'Girls Around Town' who run the Saturday morning radio slot on Radio Newark (imagine Loose Women on the radio). They are quite well networked themselves and successful individuals from across the region have been invited (so could be a beneficial evening in more ways than one).

Tickets are only £6 for the talk which begins at 6pm. They can be bought via this link http://www.etickets.to/buy/?e=12870

There will be a meeting over the road from the Castle at Ann et Vin wine bar from 5pm so a chance to share a drink and chat with Irma prior to her talk or do a spot of networking.

The book festival is something new and they are doing lots of bits including a free special Alice in Wonderland tea party for 20 young children sadly facing adversity (illness, bereavement or a domestic violence witness).
