Call for Nominations

Lincoln Civic Award 2015

With just over a month to go, people are encouraged not to miss out on a great opportunity to name their favourite individual, charity or business, to receive Lincoln’s top honour.

Nominations for the Lincoln Civic Award 2015  close at noon on 24th February 2015, and the Award Trustees are looking forward to the challenge of sifting through as many suggestions as possible.

Lincoln Civic Award Trustees Chairman Henry Ruddock said: “We have already received a real mix of nominations, but we welcome more and, with just over a month to go until the close of entries, we are urging people to let us have their suggestions now.”

Lincoln is growing in prominence within the East Midlands and continues to attract more students, a wider range of organisations and  world class companies. That means the competition is increasingly attracting a broader range of nominations.

In 2014, it was the Lincoln Street Pastors, who proudly carried off the magnificent Lincoln Civic Award, which is presented annually to a person, charity or business which has, in the opinion of the trustees, brought credit to the city of Lincoln.

Crafted by the late Lincoln Silversmith Derek Birch, the Civic Award is in the form  of an eight-sided obelisk which stands 19 inches high.  It is as much a conversation piece as it was when it was first presented in 1967.

This highly-coveted accolade will be presented at a glittering ceremony in Lincoln’s Guildhall  on April 15, 2015. The winner will keep the trophy for one year – but will also received a small replica to keep.

You can now register your nomination(s) online by visiting www.lincoln.gov.uk/civic or, alternatively, visiting Ruddocks in High Street and picking up a printed entry form, which should be addressed to:
