Annual BWL Meeting at the new Priory Keyworth Centre

Business women will be going behind the scenes at a brand new £1.1 million training and apprenticeship centre later this month.

On March 22, Business Women’s Link (BWL) is hosting its AGM at the exciting new Keyworth Centre, which is based on The Priory City of Lincoln Academy’s campus, off Skellingthorpe Road. The meeting starts at 5.30pm.

The state-of-the-art construction and motor vehicle training facility aims to make a double impact – by helping to tackle a national and local skills  shortage and by giving young adults more options when they are looking for work.

The Priory Federation of Academies’ Director of Operations Rob Reeve will be giving BWL members and their guests a tour of the premises and talking about the dilemmas relating to the training of young people, the Government’s demands on the curriculum and the significant skills gaps the new centre will help to fill.

It will be doing this by working in partnership with local and national businesses.

A SCITT (School-Centred Initial Teacher Training facility is housed on the second floor of the new building. It is the administration arm of the Lincolnshire Teaching School Alliance, which places postgraduate trainee teachers into its 20 member schools.

The Keywood Centre also features adaptable lecture rooms, which are suitable for business use.

The AGM will include refreshments and time for networking.

Attendance costs £5 for members and £10 for guests. Anyone wishing to book should visit www.businesswomenslink.co.uk or call Claire Matthews on (01522)  888555.
